NDEF stands for NFC Data Exchange Format. It’s a standardized format set by the NFC Forum for data transfer between NFC tags and readers. When you tap your phone to an NFC tag, it reads the NDEF message to determine the required action, such as opening a website, downloading contact info, or connecting to a Bluetooth device. When an NFC-enabled smartphone taps an NFC tag, it first looks for the NDEF file. Upon receiving it, the phone typically displays a prompt asking if you want to perform the specified action. You just need to give your consent to proceed.
